About Calvary Christian Schools

Partnering with parents to equip students toward personal excellence & the pursuit of God’s purpose for their lives.

From our inception, CCS has been partnering with parents to equip students for personal excellence & the pursuit of God’s purpose for their lives. Since 1980, CCS families in the greater Lakeshore area have chosen to be part of an educational community that understands the advantages of the local homes, local churches, and a family-friendly local school building a framework for life upon the same firm Spiritual foundation.

Never has a solid Christian education been more important. By developing a credible Christian worldview, CCS students more fully understand the significance of life, the consequences of ideas and actions, and each individual's need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Calvary strives to remind students that the self-discipline, responsibility, and accountability of an individual are essential to the success of any group of individuals. By learning to think for themselves, live congruously with the Truth of Scripture, and work well with others, CCS students are on their way to becoming valuable members of their families, churches, neighborhoods, and communities as they impact the world around them for the glory of God.

Preschool
Eagles Nest Preschool is a K-4 program designed for the 4 year-old child who will enter kindergarten the following year. In preschool, children are introduced to many concepts and skills needed to get them off to a good start in school. Preschool meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 – 10:45.
Elementary School
The Kindergarten through 5th Grade program exposes students to many different learning challenges and opportunities. Students learn important concepts in the areas of Bible, math, science, social studies, language arts, computers, music, art, and physical education. Our Spanish program spans kindergarten through 12th grade.
Middle School
At the middle school level, students move throughout the building for a variety of classes. Students have many different learning experiences to choose from at this stage. Students take core courses in English, math, Bible, Spanish, science, art, physical education, computers, and social studies. Middle school students also participate in choir and band. Students in middle school have many special events, field trips, and activities that are just for them.
High School
Most high school students take a traditional college prep program and electives, including Spanish, band, art, and choir. Qualified students may dual enrol in Muskegon Community College and others, or take career and technical classes at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center. A general education track is offered for students who do not plan to attend college. Qualifying students are also eligible for the Muskegon Promise: free tuition, fees, and books for two years at MCC or Baker College.

Testimonials

On a regular basis, I interact with students from many different public and private schools and school districts in the greater Muskegon area. With few exceptions, Calvary students show a drive for improvement and an intellectual curiosity that has clearly found nourishment in their families and their educational environment. Their interactions are mature and respectful without exception. It is clear to me that these students are products of a solid system.

I always enjoy speaking at Calvary Christian Schools as the students take ownership of their experience. I always work with a student running the technology and speak after a student-planned, student-practiced and student-led worship. It’s a blessing to see them faithfully training up the next generation of Christian leaders through both teaching and real-life experience.

As a pastor, I interact with teachers, parents and students from Calvary Christian Schools regularly. I see a story emerging from this group. It is the story of a people, pursuing Jesus, pursuing excellence and becoming a light to a darkened world. Their stated mission and values are lived out.
