Community Service is one of the strategic values we have included in our high school graduation requirements for more than a decade. This experience reflects our Christian faith and enhances future job and college applications. (See ESO 3.10 and 3.40)

Students can meet this requirement through a church or school related ministry as well as through approved non-profit organizations. High School Volunteer Hour Slips are available in the school office. Voucher forms should be validated by signatures of a parent and an agency representative.

Students are to perform a minimum of 10 church/community hours and 10 school-related hours hours per year. Service hours begin as early as the summer before 9th grade and must be completed prior to graduation. If service hours are performed over the summer, a student may record up to 40 hours (20 for the preceding year and 20 for the upcoming year.) Otherwise, no more than 20 of the 80 required hours shall be credited in a given school year.

School Organized Service Opportunities: The school will occasionally coordinate group service opportunities. If such events occur during regular school hours, the hours of service count for each student participant, and participation will be required of all students even if individuals have already met their own minimal requirements.
